Signing of the Twinning and Cooperation Agreement took place between Russian resort-city of Gelendzhik and Byelorussian Vitebsk

On April 20, 2009 the Twinning and Cooperation Agreement between Russian resort-city of Gelendzhik and Byelorussian Vitebsk was signed within the framework of the working visit of a delegation from municipal formation city of Gelendzhik to the Republic of Belarus.

Head of Gelendzhik Viktor Khrestin and Deputy Chairman of Vitebsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Yarovikov signed the Agreement and the program of its implementation.

Within the framework of the signed Agreement it is planned to develop cooperation in trade and economic sphere, culture, education, sports and tourism. The administration of the sister-cities is to render assistance to Gelendzhik and Vitebsk enterprises in creation of joint ventures, trading houses, representative offices and dealers' centers as well as establishing direct contacts.

The Gelendzhik delegation expressed the interest in establishing business relations with Vitebsk industrial enterprises in the sphere of housing and utilities sector, with regards to green planting and landscaping of municipal territory. In July, during the "Slavyanskiy Bazar" festival Gelendzhik is to conduct in Vitebsk presentation of its investment projects.

In turn, Gelendzhik is ready to organize a special offer in sanatorium-resorts sphere for Vitebsk tourist firms and enterprises. Grape wines manufacturer APK Gelendzhik CJSC jointly with Vitebsk distribution networks is to consider the possibilities of Byelorussian market development.

In humanitarian sphere the sister-cities are to contribute to the development of cooperation and arranging direct contacts between the organizations of culture.
